DOCTOR X AND HIS GROOVALICIOUS ASTROBEATS - LOST IN THE PSYCHEDELIC SIXTIES! (LBCD40)
NEWLY REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL 16-BIT DAT MIXES!
This great collection of 60s tunes re-imagined in Electronica (also the first appearance of Doctor X), is now remastered and expanded with three bonus tracks.
In 2000, while playing with Random Access Memory in live gigs seemeingly everywhere, Tim Casey started recording these cover tunes at home after going through some research on hit songs of 1967.
The cover versions started sounding good, so vocal contribution were made by fellow band members Glenn Williams and Rob Norberg, and Mr. Curt came up with an arrangement of "I'm Only Sleeping".
The CD went through multiple printings since demand was high. Hey, look at the song titles.
This remaster uses sources two generations earlier than the previous CD. The mulittracks and the equipment they played back on are long gone, so we can't remix this album in surround or 24-bit resolution.
In 2000 these mixes needed to go through multiple degenerative processes in order to be manufactured as a CD.
But with today's mastering tools, we can make the original final mixes sound as good - or better - than they did in the studio when we signed off on them in 2000.
So crank it up and be prepared for some subwoofer-shattering groovalicious beats!
