Aurora - Polar Lights Re-issue

This model was painted as I tried to get more out of these blasts from the past by using extreme drybrushing of vivid colors over a primer base of flat black. It may be hard to tell over the web, but there are three shades of green in the grass here - a fairly solid coat of (dark) forest green (but if an area was too deep, I let it stay black instead of drowning it in paint), a regular drybrush of (medium) leaf green, and a dry highlight of (light) spring green. The spring green is really only there in touches, but it really brought out the ridges in the grass. I tried to do that throughout the model - at least three vivid colors drybrushed over everything, except for the black suit. The primer looked cool on it, so I left it that way. The great thing about drybrushing with craft acrylics is that you use such a small amount of paint that you can experiment without burying the details under a thick coat of paint.

Another view with spookier lighting. I hope Bela would have been pleased.....
