Edgar Allan Poe

1/8th scale, resin, Sculpted by John Dennett, produced by Moohead Models
Wall and window scratch-built from basswood
(window is lit from behind for these photos)

I wanted this a long time ago, and suddenly it showed up at Culttvman's online shop.
It was in used condition, painted but then stripped, and all the parts were in an unmarked plastic bag,
so I have no idea where it came from. But wow!!!

I had to shorten the chair legs so that Poe's feet were touching the ground.
There may have originally been a footstool for him, which would explain why his feet were so high off the floor.

The window is made of basswood strips; there's a piece of hard clear plastic
on the rear of the window that I had cut off from some blister pack and saved years ago.

Behind this "glass" is the picture of the ruined Abbey. Here's the full picture:

I printed the first few lines of "The Raven" in a handwriting font.
I then printed them on translucent vellum on a laserjet printer
and then used "Tacky Glue" to stick the poem on the book.
The vellum lets the color of the book's pages come right through!

The evil-eyed Black Cat has "luminous orange" eyes; the paint is a tube of Gouache from Blick Art.
